Ethos Development Breaks Ground on 73-unit Apartment Project in N Portland, Oregon

Portland, OR – Ethos Development LLC, a Portland, Oregon based real estate development firm specializing in multifamily development projects throughout the Pacific Northwest, has broken ground on the construction of Shift Apartments, a 73-unit multi-family housing development in the Overlook Neighborhood of N Portland, Oregon.
The 43,000 square-foot, transit-oriented, five-story project is one block to away from Nomad, a 130-unit project completed by Ethos in December of 2020. The project includes a variety of unit types, including one-bedrooms, lofts, two-bedrooms, and two three-bedroom units affordable to those earning 60% of area median income. Shift also features 22 micro studios that provide market rate affordability due to efficient design. The project includes a full suite of amenities including a gym, a community room, and a roof deck.
Sweeping city and mountain views will be available on upper floors and the building has spectacular transit access while also benefitting from a quiet residential context. “We are excited to contribute to building housing in Portland at a time when so few units are in the pipeline.” noted Paul Del Vecchio, Founding Principal of Ethos Development.
Works Progress Architecture is the designer of both the Nomad and Shift projects and Portland-based O’Brien & Company will serve as the general contractor.
