Portland, OR – Ethos Development LLC, a Portland, Oregon based real estate development firm specializing in multifamily development projects throughout the Pacific Northwest, has broken ground on the construction of brookLAND, a 166-unit multi-family housing development in the Brooklyn Neighborhood of SE Portland, Oregon.

The 128,000 square-foot, transit-oriented, five-story project will consist of 166 apartments and a tea shop integrated into the building’s common space. The project includes a wide variety of unit types, including five three-bedroom units and two studios affordable to those earning 60% of area median income. brookLAND also features 28 micro studios that provide market rate affordability due to efficient design.

Sweeping city and mountain views will be available throughout the building. Focused both on residents’ wellness and energy efficiency, many units will have light and air on both sides facilitated by a dramatic 5-story atrium. Providing an unparalleled living experience, brookLAND will include a tea house, a fitness studio, a sauna, a building lounge and workspace, and a roof deck. “We are excited to contribute to the next chapter for the Brooklyn neighborhood with a design forward building, particularly at a time when housing is so badly needed.” noted Paul Del Vecchio, Founding Principal of Ethos Development. Hacker Architects, an award-winning Portland-based studio, designed the project and Corey Martin, a Principal at Hacker added “We are really proud of the way that the building will foster meaningful connections between residents as they move throughout the atrium and common spaces.”

Portland-based R&H Construction, the general contractor, supported pre-construction and is building the project. “Ethos Development has a new edge on multifamily development and R&H is honored to be a part of it” noted Dan Cook, Director of Preconstruction Services for R&H.
