Transcending Hope’s Cornell Road project is 39 units of new-construction stabilization housing in Hillsboro. It serves formerly houseless adults who are working through recovery and potentially mental health challenges. Residents get a safe, structured place to live, an individual case management plan and peer mentoring while they rebuild toward independent living. Live-in house managers are on site around the clock.
Transcending Hope will own and operate the building. The organization is a peer-led nonprofit founded in 2009, and it runs more than 20 recovery homes across the Portland metro, including culturally specific housing. The building mixes private single-room units with shared living space, and it was designed with Koble Creative using trauma-informed principles: natural light, calm materials and room to be alone or with others.
